Handelsblatt Media Group is seeking a Designer for their Data Journalism team. The designer will work on challenging and innovative data journalism projects, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to the online presence of Handelsblatt. The ideal candidate should have experience in data visualization, UX design, and proficiency in tools like Adobe Creative Suite and Tableau.
High level of creativity and ability to visualize complex data in an understandable way
Experience in designing data visualizations for journalistic content and UX design
Proficiency in visualization tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Tableau, and software like Sketch or Figma
Familiarity with programming languages like Python, R, or JavaScript is advantageous
Fast comprehension and ability to present topics in a target audience-oriented manner
Openness to new technologies and methods in data journalism and willingness to continuously develop skills
Team-oriented and able to work under time pressure reliably and attentively
Responsibilities
Define the future of data journalism at Handelsblatt by developing ideas for data-driven stories
Work on challenging and innovative data journalism projects that shape the online presence of Handelsblatt
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of data journalists, developers, and designers to actively contribute to projects
Decide on style, color concepts, and UX principles within the team instead of just executing orders
