Requirements

• Previous journalistic experience through internships or freelance work
• Successful completion of a degree or vocational training
• High affinity for digital and social media
• Strong writing skills with an understanding of online and mobile article formatting (SEO, viral, multimedial)
• Willingness to work shifts and weekends

Responsibilities

• Start a two-year cross-media Volontariat as a Redakteur*in
• Train in the Hamburger Abendblatt's editorial department and gain insights into the Berlin central editorial office and local editorial offices in the Hamburg area
• Learn the journalistic craft from A to Z, including content research, production, publication, and optimization for digital channels
• Work with experienced journalists who will provide intensive training and support
• Choose a specialization based on individual interests, such as local journalism, culture, or podcasting
• Participate in e-learnings and workshops offered by ProContent and Hamburg Media School
