Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ideally, a university degree and/or a solid education as a secretary or media clerk, as well as professional experience as a project assistant or in a demanding secretariat - preferably in print media or in a publishing house
  • Interest in political, scientific and cultural topics
  • Communication skills in English and preferably another foreign language
  • Proficient in MS-Office (MAC), databases and the internet
  • Organizational talent and quick comprehension, even for complex issues
  • High resilience, a concentrated view and the ability to handle several areas of responsibility simultaneously
  • Curiosity and ideas

Responsibilities

  • Fact-checking of texts to be edited
  • Performing all office tasks usual in an editorial office
  • Supporting and relieving the editors during production
  • Handling business correspondence and ensuring good appointment coordination and monitoring
  • Handling all bureaucratic matters for the editors and acting as a contact person for freelance authors and readers
  • Careful travel planning and handling of travel expenses and fee settlements
  • Preparing topic conferences and meetings, including maintaining protocols, planning tools (Slack, Teams) and calendars (Outlook)
