Requirements

• Several years of experience in political reporting, preferably as a foreign correspondent
• Deep understanding of US politics and economics
• Existing network with relevant figures in business and politics
• Excellent German and English language skills, along with intercultural knowledge
• Ability to work independently, report under pressure, and explain complex topics clearly
• Completed university studies in economics and a journalism education

Responsibilities

• Report on relevant political developments in the USA, particularly in foreign, economic, and innovation policies
• React quickly to current events and provide timely and precise reporting for Handelsblatt
• Build an excellent network of contacts in business and politics
• Collaborate closely with the editorial team in Germany and colleagues in other international locations to ensure consistent and high-quality reporting
• Be a reliable expert in your reporting area for podcasts, video talk formats, and events
